Common Core Math: Grade 6: Geometry

In sixth grade, students extend their knowledge of rectangles and triangles to find areas of polygons, including in real-world contexts. Students compute volumes of rectangular prisms with edges whose lengths are fractions of units. Students plot points in the coordinate plane and connect the points to define polygons. Students also use two-dimensional nets as tools for visualizing surface areas of three-dimensional solids.
